Frequently Asked Questions

  • Fortify Physical Therapy is an out of network provider with all insurances. Prior to your initial evaluation, we can verify your insurance and provide you with more information about your specific insurance plan’s benefits including deductible and copay amounts. Our billing team can submit on your behalf or provide superbills if requested. We know this can be confusing, and our staff is happy to walk you through your options.

  • Our main goal is to provide you with the best quality of care. Being an out of network provider means we are not limited to insurance requirements or constructs. This allows for longer, more effective sessions, faster recovery, and a higher level of care that prioritizes your individual needs.

  •   The number of physical therapy sessions depends on your specific condition, goals, and progress. At Fortify PT, we create individualized treatment plans after an initial assessment, with the goal of helping you recover as efficiently as possible. Some patients may need just a few sessions, while others might benefit longer bouts of care.

  • Yes, you will always be with your physical therapist for the duration of your session. You will never be handed off to an aide or trainer. We believe continuity of care enhances the recovery process.

  • Each session is 50 minutes, one on one, with your physical therapist.

  • Absolutely. The truth is, we aren’t with you all the time and there are many hours in the week. A large part of treatment success is the work you put in on your own. We spend time making sure you feel comfortable with your homework before you leave your session. This work will be tailored to your specific needs to maximize the benefit of each session with your PT.

  • In New Jersey, you do not need a referral from a doctor to have an initial evaluation from a physical therapist. At Fortify PT, we can evaluate your condition and start treatment right away. If you are pregnant and are seeking a pelvic floor PT evaluation, however, we do require your provider’s clearance.

  • We recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear, such as shorts or leggings, and sneakers are ideal. Your therapist will need access to the area being treated, so choose clothing accordingly.

  • We are happy to offer virtual consultations upon request. Virtual sessions can be a great way to receive education and exercise guidance if in person treatment is not feasible.

  • We understand things happen. As a small business, giving us enough time to fill your appointment spot is also very important. Cancellations 24 hours + in advance do not incur a fee. Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment are considered late. As a courtesy, the first late cancellation will be a fee of $50, any late cancellation after that will be $150. Cancellations made within the time of the appointment are considered “No shows” and will be charged the full amount of your appointment.
